The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools and it is for schools to decide how the funding will be spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
Children who are eligible include:
The Government do not dictate how schools should spend this money, but are clear that schools will need to employ the strategies that they know will support these pupils to increase their attainment, and ‘narrow the gap’ between their attainment and the attainment of other pupils.
You can see our Pupil Premium Strategy 2024-27 here.
We use some of the Pupil Premium to fund the Carr Offer. The Carr Offer is a support package to support families who are eligible for free school meals.
